Serve on a Ministry Team!

Select the ministry team you are most interested in serving on:

These ministry teams serve our church community and our neighbors on Sundays, at occasional events/church gatherings, and at different times throughout the week or on different projects throughout the year. Start by selecting the team you are most interested in joining.

If you would enjoy reading scripture and leading the congregation in prayer during Sunday services, this is the team for you!

If you’re a musician and would like to perform solo or sing in the church choir, join this team!

If you know your way away around a sound board or want to learn to run AV equipment, this is your team!

The Hospitality Team makes Trinity’s gatherings what they are! If you enjoy talking to people, welcoming new folks and longtime community members, or have a heart for creating welcoming spaces, join the Hospitality Team!

We are building a Children’s Ministry at Trinity! If you enjoy working with kids and contributing to the spiritual growth of children, this is the team for you.

The Care Team shows God’s love by caring for members of the Trinity community in times of need. They pray for and with people, they call congregants to check in, they visit folks at home and in the hospital, and they share meals with people. To join the Care Team, you need to have attended Trinity for 6+ months and be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Trinity’s Justice Ministry Team is an action-oriented ministry working to bring about the Kingdom of God in Kansas City by supporting local justice initiatives.

Volunteers gather to serve free community meals on Mondays at the Gilmore Meal, a Trinity tradition since 1985, named for longtime Trinitarians Earl and Beverly Gilmore. Lunch is served from noon to 1, and volunteers gather earlier to prepare. On the 2nd and 4th Mondays, we also offer an Emergency Pantry with hygiene items and laundry vouchers, among other necessities.

Volunteers gather to serve free community meals on Saturdays at The Lord’s Table, a tradition with more than 30 years of history. Lunch is served from 11:30am-12:30pm, and volunteers gather earlier to prepare.

The Baby Grace Ministry provided more than 90,000 free diapers to families in need in 2023! This ministry is a partnership between Trinity and St. John’s UMC, and we distribute diapers on the second Saturdays of every month from 2-4pm and the Thursdays following from 6-7pm.

Are you a photographer, visual artist, graphic designer, or marketing professional who wants to use your gifts to bless the church? Being a part of this team could mean helping our Director of Operations with one-off design projects or taking photos of a special event! If this team sounds like you, we’d love to find a place for you!

The Church, just like every organization, has practical needs! If you are administratively minded, have time in your calendar to give to the church, or just have willing hands and an eager spirit, this team is for you. Being a part of this team could mean organizing, jumping in on a project, folding bulletins, or helping with the day to day. There are always things to do, and we’d love to find a place for you!
